Jake Tapani has been involved in the Plumbing Industry for 30 years and has been the president of JRT since its inception in 1992. By creating an environment that places high value on its employees, Jake has built the company with long-term, dedicated individuals. The 13 foremen that work at JRT have been with the company for an average of 15 years.
Ken Tikka began in the plumbing and mechanical field in 1997 as a journeyman plumber and now leads as Operations Manager. Ken has experience managing large commercial and industrial mechanical installations in both public and private sectors. He holds certifications in Heat Pump Commissioning, Duct Sealing, PTCS, Ground Source Heat Pump Installations, IGSHP and EPA Clean Air.
Karl Tapani started at JRT in 1997. He is responsible for the management of large scope projects with specialties in schools and industrial jobs. Karl has managed projects in excess of five million dollars, and has a comprehensive knowledge of all aspects of commercial and industrial plumbing and mechanical systems.
Wade has over 25 years of experience in the Seattle area mechanical contracting industry and has a solid understanding of HVAC and piping systems design, budgeting and installation. With a focus on customer retention and growth through project success, he has managed projects in excess of $15 million from concept through completion. Wade serves the needs of the local market from our Seattle office.
Sven estimates and manages JRT’s industrial projects. He also coordinates with our project foremen and designs spool drawings for in house pipefitters and welders, as well as creating field coordination drawings for multiple trade involvement. Sven holds a degree in Structural Engineering.
Kevin Rose obtained his commercial plumbing journeyman card in 2000 and for many years served as an instructor for 4th year apprentices enrolled in Washington’s approved apprenticeship program (CITC). Kevin’s main focus is on managing the mechanical installations on hotels, apartments and smaller commercial projects.
Gary Ritola has been in the mechanical industry since 1993. A Journeyman Plumber since 1997, Gary has vast experience on a wide variety of projects including residential, commercial, industrial and multi-story. Gary made his transition from the field to the office in 2014, and has implemented his experience as a Foreman to make his projects run smoothly.
Stephanie Rau has been in the construction industry since 2000 with a background in management of over fifteen years. She brings a variety of savviness to JRT Mechanical with experience in both civil and mechanical divisions. Her knowledge and strengths are a great combination for JRT’s new Special Projects Division where JRT offers a “turnkey” approach and acting GC.
Autumn Burton has over 5 years of experience as an Engineering Assistant. Autumn has experience working on multiple projects small and large. From the submittal process, to job close outs and compiling O&Ms, her sharp focus keeps projects running smoothly.
Matt Johnson serves in the role of Finance Manager and is responsible for financial operations and projections, as well as, human resource management of the company. Matt has 22 years of operations and management experience in human resources, risk management, safety, finance and accounting. He also works closely with JRT’s apprentices enrolled in the CITC Apprenticeship Program.
Luke Erickson runs our pre-fabrication operation, as well as handling all our tool and equipment needs. With a crew of certified welders and plumbers, Luke is helping JRT deliver quality mechanical systems more efficiently and effectively.
Darrin Moir is in charge of keeping the employees at JRT safe and productive. He is OSHA 30 Certified and has specialized training in confined space, rigging, fork lift and scissor lift safety. Darrin conducts all new hire safety orientation and job site inspections and leads the company’s safety committee. Additionally, he makes sure our team has all the right technology to deliver the best results possible.
Anika assists in JRT Mechanicals’ Accounts Payable department managing incoming invoices and preparing them for payment. She also assists the estimation department and has been with the company since it’s founding.
Elaine Muonio is the Assistant Controller and handles many day to day operations of JRT. Her attention to detail is invaluable to human resources, finances and job coordination. In addition to fielding phone calls and daily mail, many of her tasks include payroll, accounts payable, document control, job setup administration, and employee benefits.
Stefan Erickson has been with JRT for ten years and is the company’s Senior Estimator. He is highly experienced in both commercial, and industrial estimating. His knowledge of sophisticated, cutting edge estimation technology insures complete and accurate take-offs and estimates. He then works closely with the budget and design-build team. Stefan’s broad experience in CAD proves vital for project accuracy and design.
Keith Tapani works as an estimator, generating accurate takeoffs using Quick Pen Estimating software, compiling job costs and production of straight forward AutoCAD As Built and Permit drawings.
Joe Massie has worked both as a journeyman plumber and HVAC installer. He brings a wealth of knowledge through field experience and integrates that into designing and laying out mechanical systems. Joe is proficient with AutoCAD, Revit MEP and SysQue.
Roger joined our CAD team in 2015 and brings over forty-three years experience in the construction industry. His seasoned knowledge of NavisWorks and his work as an MEP Coordinator add to the technical skills of our team. His practical experience in the field as a Welder and Pipe Fitter prove to be very valuable. He also has experience as a Project Manager, Estimator, and MTEL Lead Field Engineer.
Drew Johnson recently switched over to JRT to work as controller and is responsible for many of the accounting and finance functions within the office, including: accounts payable and receivable and contract and insurance administration.
Lynda Pitsch has considerable experience in Commercial Quotes and operates as Purchasing assistant. She has six years experience as a Commercial Estimator for the plumbing wholesalers and brings her experience not only quoting commercial jobs but also doing the purchasing of them from all of the various plumbing vendors. Lynda has a broad knowledge of the commercial job processes such as the submittals and O and M manuals, and is very detailed in providing the most accurate information for the contractors and engineers for our jobs.
